Great food, great music, great vibes. Helston’s own Pica Rico bring their vibrant Mexican street food to Coronation Park for one unmissable evening — with a soundtrack to match.

Jenn and Francis have been on a journey from pop-up taquerias in London to travelling through Mexico learning ancestral cooking techniques, before landing in Cornwall and opening their much-loved deli right here in Helston. Their food celebrates the best of both worlds — authentic Mexican flavours made with locally sourced Cornish produce, from day-boat fish to organic vegetables from local market gardeners. Stone-ground corn masa, incredible tacos, fresh ceviches and all the bold flavours Mexico has to offer.

Now imagine that — outdoors, by the lake, with music setting the tone for the evening as the sun goes down. The tracks as carefully curated as the food, building from chilled grooves into something that bit more funky. Think cold drinks, warm tacos, and a vibe that makes you forget you’re in Cornwall for a moment — before the sunset over the lake reminds you there’s nowhere better.

Flexible Ticket Prices

The South Kerrier Alliance CIC own and run Coronation Park for the “benefit of the residents of Helston and The Lizard” and we want everyone to be able to enjoy our events. To try and make our events as accessible as possible, we are offering various ticket prices for this event and a free ticket draw. Please book the ticket that reflects what you can afford right now. You won’t be asked any questions and your ticket options won’t be shared with anyone.

Event-Specific Information

• This is a ticketed event. Booking essential.
• Evening event from 7pm.

What do I need to know?

• This open-air event takes place in Events Square, directly outside Lakeside Cafe at Coronation Park, Helston, TR13 0RA.
• A licensed bar will be selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
• Outdoor events will only be cancelled in extreme weather conditions, so please dress for the Cornish weather and bring a coat. Please don’t bring umbrellas as they block the view for other audience members.
• There is a small pay and display car park at Coronation Park — all proceeds support the running of the park. There is a larger pay and display car park at Castle Green and at the nearby Fairground car park.
• There is level access to Coronation Park and Events Square. If you have any additional access needs that you’d like to discuss with us, please email Guy at guy@lovehelston.co.uk.
• There are accessible toilets at the rear of Lakeside Cafe.
• Events may be filmed or photographed and the material may be used by the South Kerrier Alliance CIC and its partner companies/organisations for evaluation, promotion or other projects. Please make sure everyone in your party is aware of this.
• Tickets are non-refundable.
