Squashbox: Skillywidden
supported by Lakeside Cafe
Saturday 22nd August | 2.30pm
FREE EVENT
Discover the magical world of Cornish folklore with Squashbox Theatre! Meet Skillywidden the mischievous Pisky and all of his faery friends as you journey through the Cornish countryside searching for the elusive Small Folk, Piskies, Knockers, Brownies and — most mischievous of all — the Spriggans.
Along the way you’ll learn all about the bees, bats, birds and butterflies who live alongside them. Marvel at the incredible Book of Nature as it literally comes alive before your eyes! Expect puppets, storytelling, comedy, live music and all the charm you’d expect from Squashbox Theatre — a wonderful celebration of Cornwall’s folklore and natural world.
We’re grateful for the kind support of Lakeside Cafe, whose generous sponsorship helps us bring Squashbox Theatre to the park for free every summer.
Skillywidden is one of four free Squashbox shows at Coronation Park this summer:
- Curious Creatures — Friday 13th June, 2.30pm
- Stones & Bones — Monday 4th August, 2.30pm
- Skillywidden — Saturday 22nd August, 2.30pm
- The Sea Show — Sunday 31st August, 2.30pm
All four shows are completely free, thanks to Lakeside Cafe.
Support free events at Coronation Park
This year, over 60% of our events at Coronation Park are completely free. We do this because we believe that everyone in Helston and on The Lizard deserves access to brilliant events — regardless of what’s in their pocket. The South Kerrier Alliance CIC is a not-for-profit organisation and we don’t receive any regular public funding. Every free event we put on is only possible because of the support of people like you. If days like this matter to you and your community, please consider making a donation here.
