Organised by Helston Town Council\, this free afternoon at Coronation Park celebrates our local LGBTQIA+ community with live music\, free crafting\, local acts and support groups. \nEveryone is invited. \nThis is Helston Town Council’s annual celebration of pride\, community and togetherness – a day for everyone to come together and show that Helston is a place where everyone is welcome. \nBring a picnic\, grab a coffee from Lakeside Cafe\, and enjoy an afternoon of music\, creativity and connection by the lake. \nWhether you’re part of the LGBTQIA+ community\, an ally\, or just looking for a lovely afternoon in the park with your family\, Helston Picnic Pride is for you. \nEvent-Specific Information \n\nSuitable for all ages. Everyone is welcome.\nThis is a free event organised by Helston Town Council. No booking required — just turn up!\nFree crafting activities available.\nSupport groups and community organisations will be present.\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat do I need to know? \n\nThis open-air event takes place in Events Square\, directly outside Lakeside Cafe at Coronation Park\, Helston\, TR13 0RA.\nPlease bring your own chairs and/or blankets. Seating is not provided.\nLakeside Cafe will be open serving hot and cold drinks\, ice creams\, cakes and a range of family-friendly meals.\nOutdoor events will only be cancelled in extreme weather conditions\, so please dress for the Cornish weather and bring a coat.\nThere is a small pay and display car park at Coronation Park — all proceeds support the running of the park. There is a larger pay and display car park at Castle Green. Free parking is available at the nearby Fairground car park.\nThere is level access to Coronation Park and Events Square. If you have any additional access needs that you’d like to discuss with us\, please email Guy at guy@lovehelston.co.uk.\nThere are accessible toilets at the rear of Lakeside Cafe.\nEvents may be filmed or photographed and the material may be used by the South Kerrier Alliance CIC and its partner companies/organisations for evaluation\, promotion or other projects. DESCRIPTION:FREE Yoga in Coronation Park\nwith Kirsty\nA South Kerrier Alliance Funded Project\nMultiple Dates starting Sunday 7th June until Sunday 6th September (NOTE:  No yoga on Sunday 28th June)\nYoga is beneficial for both the body and mind\, offering a range of physical and mental health advantages.  It enhances flexibility\, strength and balance\, while also promoting stress relief and improved mental well-being. Regular practice can lead to better sleep\, reduced anxiety\, and improved mood.  \nThe South Kerrier Alliance CIC own and run Coronation Park for the “benefit of the residents of Helston and The Lizard” and we want everyone to be able to enjoy our events. \nThe series of Yoga sessions in Coronation Park is being funded by South Kerrier Alliance CIC.  If you would like to support more free yoga sessions in the park and other events you can donate via this link Donate Here\n🧘 Yoga at Coronation Park – Everything You Need to Know\nWho can take part?We welcome everyone — from total beginners to experienced yogis! Kirsty\, our qualified and experienced instructor\, is great at leading mixed-ability sessions. It’s the perfect chance to try yoga for the first time. \nHowever\, please note: \n\n\nIf you’re under the care of a doctor or medical professional\, speak with them before attending. \n\n\nIf you’ve been advised not to take part in physical activity\, are pregnant\, or have a medical condition\, illness\, or injury\, please do not take part in Yoga in the Park. \n\n\nKirsty cannot offer specific medical advice\, but she ensures plenty of accessible options during the session. \n\n\nYoga is a physical activity and you participate at your own risk. \n\nDo I need to book?No booking needed — just turn up! Please arrive on time as important safety info and the warm-up happen at the start. Latecomers won’t be able to join the session. \n\nAre families welcome?Yes! Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or carer\, who should stay nearby at all times. Parents/carers are fully responsible for their children during the session. \n\nWhat should I bring? \n\n\nA yoga mat (or towel/blanket if you don’t have one). \n\n\nA limited number of mats will be available to borrow. \n\n\nWater and anything else to help you feel comfortable. \n\n\n\nWhat should I wear?Anything comfy that you can move and stretch in! \n\nWhat if it rains?Sessions continue in light rain under the Pavilion. The free celebration of music takes place in 125 countries on 21st June every year. \nJoin Townshend Love To Sing Choir for an hour-long free concert on Events Square. \nSupport free events at Coronation Park \nThis year\, over 60% of our events at Coronation Park are completely free. We do this because we believe that everyone in Helston and on The Lizard deserves access to brilliant events — regardless of what’s in their pocket. The South Kerrier Alliance CIC is a not-for-profit organisation and we don’t receive any regular public funding. Every free event we put on is only possible because of the support of people like you.
