DESCRIPTION:FREE Yoga in Coronation Park\nwith Kirsty\nA South Kerrier Alliance Funded Project\nMultiple Dates starting Sunday 15th June\nYoga is beneficial for both the body and mind\, offering a range of physical and mental health advantages.  It enhances flexibility\, strength and balance\, while also promoting stress relief and improved mental well-being. Regular practice can lead to better sleep\, reduced anxiety\, and improved mood.  \nThe South Kerrier Alliance CIC own and run Coronation Park for the “benefit of the residents of Helston and The Lizard” and we want everyone to be able to enjoy our events. \nThe series of Yoga sessions in Coronation Park is being funded by South Kerrier Alliance CIC.  If you would like to support more free yoga sessions in the park and other events you can donate via this link Donate Here\n🧘 Yoga at Coronation Park – Everything You Need to Know\nWho can take part?We welcome everyone — from total beginners to experienced yogis! Kirsty\, our qualified and experienced instructor\, is great at leading mixed-ability sessions. It’s the perfect chance to try yoga for the first time. \nHowever\, please note: \n\n\nIf you’re under the care of a doctor or medical professional\, speak with them before attending. \n\n\nIf you’ve been advised not to take part in physical activity\, are pregnant\, or have a medical condition\, illness\, or injury\, please do not take part in Yoga in the Park. \n\n\nKirsty cannot offer specific medical advice\, but she ensures plenty of accessible options during the session. \n\n\nYoga is a physical activity and you participate at your own risk. \n\nDo I need to book?No booking needed — just turn up! Please arrive on time as important safety info and the warm-up happen at the start. Latecomers won’t be able to join the session. \n\nAre families welcome?Yes! Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or carer\, who should stay nearby at all times. Parents/carers are fully responsible for their children during the session. \n\nWhat should I bring? \n\n\nA yoga mat (or towel/blanket if you don’t have one). \n\n\nA limited number of mats will be available to borrow. \n\n\nWater and anything else to help you feel comfortable. \n\n\n\nWhat should I wear?Anything comfy that you can move and stretch in! \n\nWhat if it rains?Sessions continue in light rain under the Pavilion. Round up your crew and zoom down to Helston’s Water Carnival this summer – it’s back and bigger than ever! \nWe’re back for the second year with a floating float parade\, mini sailing boat race and *new for 2025* a “Need for Speed” peddled float race! #LoveHelston \nTimetable for the afternoon:\n12-2pm Free mini boat building workshop (bring an empty single-use plastic water bottle with you)\n2.30pm Mini boat race across the lake\n4pm Grand Parade pedalo-pulled floats\n4.30pm(ish) “Need for Speed” float race \nWhat do I need to know? \n\nLakeside Cafe will be open\, serving a range of hot and cold drinks\, snacks and meals.\nThis open-air event takes place in Events Square\, directly outside Lakeside Cafe at Coronation Park\, Helston\, TR13 0RA.\nOutdoor events will only be cancelled in extreme weather conditions.\nThere is a small pay and display car park at Coronation Park\, all proceeds from this car park supports the running of Coronation Park.   There is a larger car park at Castle Green. Free parking is available at the nearby Fairground car park.\nThere is level access to Coronation Park and Events Square. It’s his job to make sure the woods are a peaceful and happy place\, but he’s having a tough time of it today! \nA cheeky squirrel has stolen his Chocolate Covered Nutty Snack Bar™\, his niece ‘Little Red’ has wandered off the path on her way to Granny’s house\, the mysterious old Wizard of the Woods is playing tricks again\, and there are even rumours of a big bad Wolf in the forest! \nWill Craig save the day? Come and find out\, and along the way learn how to identify different trees\, discover the wonder of photosynthesis\, meet some friendly forest creatures and encounter crazy characters from folklore and fairy tales! \n‘Tales from the Trees’ is a terrific tangle of puppetry\, storytelling\, live music and comedy\, with a theme that embraces natural history\, folklore and ecology. \nListen!
