Kirsty\, our qualified and experienced instructor\, is great at leading mixed-ability sessions. It’s the perfect chance to try yoga for the first time. \nHowever\, please note: \n\n\nIf you’re under the care of a doctor or medical professional\, speak with them before attending. \n\n\nIf you’ve been advised not to take part in physical activity\, are pregnant\, or have a medical condition\, illness\, or injury\, please do not take part in Yoga in the Park. \n\n\nKirsty cannot offer specific medical advice\, but she ensures plenty of accessible options during the session. \n\n\nYoga is a physical activity and you participate at your own risk. \n\nDo I need to book?No booking needed — just turn up! Please arrive on time as important safety info and the warm-up happen at the start. Latecomers won’t be able to join the session. \n\nAre families welcome?Yes! Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or carer\, who should stay nearby at all times. DESCRIPTION:Curious Creatures\nby Squashbox Theatre\nSaturday 16th August at 2.30pm\nFREE EVENT\nWelcome to the Curious Creatures wildlife park\, established by Jeremiah Johnson: world-renowned explorer\, zoologist and animal collector. Nobody knows more about animals than him. \nUnfortunately\, Jeremiah Johnson is currently lost somewhere in the jungles of Africa\, so he has handed the running of the park over to his inexperienced nephew Craig… and things don’t quite go as planned. \nExpect to meet curious creatures of all shapes and sizes: from performing fleas\, skateboarding snails and gymnastic gerbils to irritable alligators\, over-excited elephants\, and a very intelligent orang-utan! Learn about how animals evolved\, how their amazing adaptations help them survive in the wild\, and how animals can help us learn more about ourselves. After all\, we’re all related if you go back far enough! \nUsing puppets\, comedy\, slapstick and live music – plus lots of amazing natural history facts – Squashbox Theatre will uncover the mysteries of the animal kingdom. \n(No animals were harmed in the making of this show. But several puppets were mildly traumatised.) \nWhat do I need to know? \n\nPlease bring your own chairs and/or blankets for this event. Seating is not provided.\nLakeside Cafe will be open\, serving a range of hot and cold drinks\, snacks and meals.\nThis open-air event takes place in Events Square\, directly outside Lakeside Cafe at Coronation Park\, Helston\, TR13 0RA.\nOutdoor events will only be cancelled in extreme weather conditions\, so please bring a coat (but not an umbrella as it blocks the view of other audience members).\nThere is a small pay and display car park at Coronation Park\, proceeds from the car park supports the running of Coronation Park. Meet the brave heroes and immortal gods of ancient Greece\, such as Heracles\, Odysseus\, Perseus\, Zeus and Aphrodite! Encounter some of the mixed-up monsters of legend\, such as the Minotaur\, the Harpies\, the Cyclops and the terrifying gorgon\, Medusa! It’s the perfect chance to try yoga for the first time. \nHowever\, please note: \n\n\nIf you’re under the care of a doctor or medical professional\, speak with them before attending. \n\n\nIf you’ve been advised not to take part in physical activity\, are pregnant\, or have a medical condition\, illness\, or injury\, please do not take part in Yoga in the Park. \n\n\nKirsty cannot offer specific medical advice\, but she ensures plenty of accessible options during the session. \n\n\nYoga is a physical activity and you participate at your own risk. \n\nDo I need to book?No booking needed — just turn up! Please arrive on time as important safety info and the warm-up happen at the start. Latecomers won’t be able to join the session. \n\nAre families welcome?Yes! Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or carer\, who should stay nearby at all times. Parents/carers are fully responsible for their children during the session. \n\nWhat should I bring? \n\n\nA yoga mat (or towel/blanket if you don’t have one). \n\n\nA limited number of mats will be available to borrow. \n\n\nWater and anything else to help you feel comfortable. \n\n\n\nWhat should I wear?Anything comfy that you can move and stretch in! \n\nWhat if it rains?Sessions continue in light rain under the Pavilion. For heavier weather\, check the Coronation Park Facebook page — cancellations will be announced at least 1 hour before the session. \n\nParking \n\n\nSmall pay & display car park at Coronation Park (proceeds support the park). \n\n\nLarger car park at Castle Green. \n\n\nFree parking nearby at Fairground car park. \n\n\n\nToiletsAvailable at The Old Cattle Market during yoga sessions. \n\nOther FAQs🚫 Dogs are not permitted at yoga sessions.📸 Events may be filmed/photographed and used by South Kerrier Alliance CIC or partners for promotion/evaluation.
