DESCRIPTION:Library Unleashed\nHelston Library Takeover\nTuesday 7th April | All day\nFREE EVENTS – NO BOOKING REQUIRED\nHelston Library is breaking free! For one day only\, the library bursts out of its four walls and takes over the Cirk Hes Big Top at Coronation Park for a day of creative mayhem. \nFrom swords to storytelling\, writing workshops to mythical milkshakes — there’s something for every age. Whether your little ones are bookworms or need a bit of tempting\, this is a day designed to show that libraries are anything but quiet. \nDrop in any time and discover what happens when books escape into the big top! \nEvent-Specific Information \n\nSuitable for all ages — with specific sessions for different age groups (see below).\nThis is a free\, drop-in event. No booking required.\nDogs are not permitted inside the tent.\n\nWhat’s Happening at Library Unleashed? \n10am-12pm SWORDS! SWORDS! SWORDS! (All ages/families)\nSwashbuckling Cornwall brings SWORDS! SWORDS! SWORDS! to Helston this Easter. A performative and informative family show where you’ll discover swords from across time and see some of them in action. Expect gasps\, history and a lot of swishing! \n12.20-2.30pm Shhh… Chaos Outside the Library!\nFrom thinking outside the books to reading between the lines\, Helston Library’s Writer in Residence\, Tamara Rosenwyn\, will help you ignite your imagination through quirky writing games and unpredictable prompts! \n3-4pm Get Kids Writing! (Children of any age)\nA character creation workshop with children’s author Terry Lander. Younger children will be drawing characters they create\, and older children will build the foundations of writing about characters. Fun and creative for children of all ages. \nWhat do I need to know? \n\nThis event takes place inside a big-top circus tent next to the play area at Coronation Park\, Helston\, TR13 0RA.\nSeating is provided inside the tent.\nFor daytime events\, Lakeside Cafe will be open serving hot and cold drinks\, ice creams\, cakes and a range of family-friendly meals. For evening events\, limited refreshments will be available.\nThere is a small pay and display car park at Coronation Park — all proceeds support the running of the park. There is a larger pay and display car park at Castle Green. Free parking is available at the nearby Fairground car park.\nThere is level access to Coronation Park and into the tent. If you have any additional access needs that you’d like to discuss with us\, please email Guy at guy@lovehelston.co.uk.\nThere are accessible toilets at the rear of Lakeside Cafe.\nUnfortunately\, dogs are not permitted inside the tent.\nLatecomers may not be admitted.\nEvents may be filmed or photographed and the material may be used by the South Kerrier Alliance CIC and its partner companies/organisations for evaluation\, promotion or other projects.
