Sing Choir – Cornwall’s largest independent community choir – brings together voices from across the community for an uplifting performance by the water. \nWith a repertoire spanning contemporary pop and rock all the way back to 60s classics and everything in between\, all performed with live accompaniment\, this is a concert guaranteed to get you smiling\, swaying and singing along. \nThe Helston branch of Sing Choir is part of a vibrant singing community with over 170 members across Falmouth\, Helston and Truro – and this lakeside concert is a chance to hear them in full voice. \nBring a blanket\, pack a picnic\, and settle in for a lovely evening of live music in the park. \nEvent-Specific Information \n\nSuitable for all ages.\nThis is a ticketed event that requires pre-booking.\nBring your own chairs and/or blankets.\n\nFlexible Ticket Prices \nThe South Kerrier Alliance CIC own and run Coronation Park for the “benefit of the residents of Helston and The Lizard” and we want everyone to be able to enjoy our events. To try and make our events as accessible as possible\, we are offering various ticket prices for this event and a free ticket draw. Please book the ticket that reflects what you can afford right now. Seating is not provided.\nA licensed bar will be selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as snacks.\nOutdoor events will only be cancelled in extreme weather conditions\, so please dress for the Cornish weather and bring a coat. Please don’t bring umbrellas as they block the view for other audience members.\nThere is a small pay and display car park at Coronation Park — all proceeds support the running of the park. There is a larger pay and display car park at Castle Green. Free parking is available at the nearby Fairground car park.\nThere is level access to Coronation Park and Events Square. You’ll learn amazing facts about how animals evolved and how their adaptations help them survive in the wild. After all\, we’re all related if you go back far enough! \nSquashbox Theatre’s shows are a much-loved fixture of the Coronation Park summer programme. There will be thrills and spills galore\, but also lots of laughs\, plenty of puppets\, songs\, slapstick\, tall tales and crazy characters — all presented in that unique Squashbox style. \nSquashbox Theatre’s Craig Johnson — former member of Cornwall’s renowned Kneehigh Theatre — is a much-loved fixture of the Coronation Park summer programme. Didi Hopkins — whose extraordinary career spans the National Theatre\, the Royal Shakespeare Company\, RADA\, LAMDA and the Roundhouse\, and who was a central figure in developing the smash-hit One Man\, Two Guvnors — is coming to Coronation Park as part of Playful Park. \nWorking with Trevow Helston\, Didi will spend two weeks with a group of students\, immersing them in the 500-year-old Italian theatre tradition of Commedia dell’arte — the masks\, the characters\, the improvisation\, the slapstick and the storytelling that sit at the very roots of European theatre. The first week takes place at Trevow Chapel; the second week\, the troupe moves to Coronation Park. \nThroughout the week\, there will be a pop-up performance somewhere in the park. It could happen at any time — by the lake\, near the cafe\, in the play park\, anywhere. Keep your eyes peeled and look out for them around and about! These unannounced\, unpredictable and utterly delightful moments of live theatre are Commedia at its best — mischievous\, physical\, funny and totally in the moment. \nWhat is Playful Park? \nPlayful Park is our 2026 project transforming Coronation Park into a vibrant destination for family fun all summer long.
