Grab your mates\, grab a seat\, and get ready for a an afternoon of pure climbing inspiration. \n12:30pm Doors Open \n1pm-2.30pm Britrock Films \n3pm-3.30pm FREE Bouldering Induction next door in The Tide Climbing Centre then you’ll be let loose to scale the walls if you sign up to be a member on the day! \nBouldering inductions will teach you everything you need to know about becoming a competent boulderer. We follow Tina’s climbing year as she tours stunning lines in North Yorkshire and the Lakes\, supported by her partner Ian Henderson – a 6’4 giant who provides no useful beta! Tina’s severe lack of reach and her neurological state provide ever-present challenges that Tina never shies from. This film is a sweet and charming exploration of the mental benefits of climbing\, and of the focus that can be found in commitment. Channelling Withnail and I and Ealing comedies\, the film charts the financial and emotional trials and tribulations of making change together. \nFrom sleeping on rooftops to growing thousands of sunflowers and attempts at Christmas number one\, community spirit and resilience are at the heart of this documentary. \n \nProgramme for the evening:\n5:45pm – Doors open\n6pm – Communal Feast\n7pm – Social Cinema experience – We begin with a short mindful breathwork practice\, before screening the film\, and then opening up the room to an audience-led discussion. \nThe plant-based feast for this event will be sourced and prepared using local\, sustainably-grown produce. Sign up here \nFor Parents and Carers \nThe Basement is a neutral\, welcoming space in Helston town centre — not attached to any school or existing group — where young people aged 11–18 can meet\, create\, and build new friendships. \nThis pilot project uses high-quality creative workshops to support confidence\, wellbeing\, and self-expression. Young people aren’t just participants — they help shape the programme itself\, giving them a genuine voice and a real sense of ownership. \nLed by professional artists and makers\, workshops are inclusive\, safe\, and designed to bring together young people from different backgrounds around shared creative goals. \nThis group will meet on a mixture of Saturday mornings and Monday evenings. \nThis is a pilot project. What we learn will inform a longer 18-month programme that we hope to secure funding for.
