Ever wanted to try DJing? Here’s your chance to get hands-on with the decks and learn from the pros.

Join Professional Tutors and DJs from Amplify for 6-weeks of DJ lessons where you can discover what it takes to mix tracks, create transitions, and get a crowd moving. Whether you’ve never touched a deck before or you’re already mixing at home, this session is for you.

Following the huge success of October’s half-term workshop, this is an opportunity to progress your skills over the 6-week course.  We will be running 2 sessions 6pm-7pm or 7pm – 8pm.  Space is limited so make sure you book your slot early!

What’s Happening:

• FREE SPACES available for 11-18 year olds subject to eligibility – see booking information.
• Professional Tutor Team.
• Each week you’ll receive 1-hour of tuition and 1-hour of studio hire at a time to suit you to practice your mixing!
• All abilities welcome – complete beginners to experienced DJs
• Share your favourite tunes and get tips on mixing and technique
• Try out professional equipment in a supportive environment
• Hear what’s possible and get inspired by meeting students who’ve been through the programme

No pressure, no judgement – just come along, have a go, share your music taste, and see if DJing is for you.

What do I need to know?

• Who is The Basement for?
  The Basement isn’t just another youth centre – it’s the space you asked for, designed by you, built for you. The space is primarily for 11-18 year olds. Your basement. Your rules. Your future starts here.

• I need dropping off in a car. Where?
  The Basement is in Trengrouse Way pay and display car park.

• Do I have to book?
  We have a limited capacity and booking means we can guarantee you a space.  If we have space available we may be able to take walk-ins on the day but we cannot guarantee this.

• What is access like?
  We have level, step-free access from the car park into the building as well as accessible toilets. If you have additional access needs please contact us on hello@lovehelston.co.uk or drop in.

• Where is The Basement?
  We are in the basement of Helston Gateway (the former Budgens supermarket building) next to The Parade and in Trengrouse Way car park.

• Will you be taking photos and video?
  We often take photos so let everyone you’re booking tickets for know this. These photos, films and recordings may be used at any time in print and online for evaluation, promotion or in connection with other projects. If you would prefer to not be in photos please let staff at The Basement know.
